All time top five most personal
I'm working on a big post that, while not necessarily profound, will definitely be long. While we wait, I offer you this nugget:
My all time top five most personal films. These are movies that, one way or another, I have really connected with emotionally. Five films that for some reason made me go: Hey, that's me.
- Kicking and Screaming
- High Fidelity
- Fight Club
- Office Space
- SLC Punk!

Kicking and Screaming, definately not Will Farrells best work.
Anyhow, here are 5 of my own:
1. Lost in Translation
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
3. Fight Club
4. American Beauty
5. Glengarry Glenross
Put these movies in a belender pour the concoction out and you have a big ole' glass of Mike Szalay. Sadly, Snakes on a Plane was barely edged out since even my life could not possibly be so awesome.
I'm glad i'm not the only one who saw bits of myself in High Fidelity. Maybe not so much in his codependence and complete inability to commit to anything, but definitely in his music obsession. ;)
How do you emotionally connect with Will Ferrell in 'Kicking and Screaming?"
My "top five" include (in no particular order):
1. The Mission
2. Empire Records
3. I Am Sam
4. Alice in Wonderland
5. Crash
For the love of god, it's not the Will Ferrell movie!
Then what movie is it?
As a loyal thinblueblog reader, may I direct you to the May 18, 2006 entry, as well as this website that it references.

Does this qualify me as a stalker or just having a good memory? Hey Noelle and Logan (although Logan I don't know if it was you), remember freshman year when you guys stalked Ray to be funny? hahahaha!
I don't believe i participated in the aforementioned stalking. Honestly, I don't even remember it occuring. That could mean one of three things: that i wasn't privy to the occurance in the first place, that i am truly getting old and the memory has been lost to me, or that all the drugs I've ever done have eaten away the section of my brain that formerly housed the "Ray stalking incident." I'm not sure which option i would prefer to be the true reason behind my complete inability to recall....
Tori, thank you for your careful reading!
Logan, being somewhat of an authority on the matter, I can say with some certainty that while you were not a part of the infamous Ray Stalking Incident you were most definitely the ringleader behind the Sexually Assault Ray with a Giant Dog Incident. As incidents go, it was shorter, but a lot more traumatic.
I think that "ringleader" is much too strong of a word. It implies planning and forethought, neither of which were involved. All I did was simply fail to intervene. The sexual assualt was orchestrated entirely and solely by the dog. Also, I don't think that in actuality i can be held even partially responsible for the attack (even though it was my dog) because i did attempt to help you. It's just that i was laughing so hard i was paralyzed and unable to come to your rescue.
A fair defense!
