Second-rate third degree burns

That's it. Today the RIAA-- the Recording Industry Assholes of America-- has extorted $2,000 from a 12-year old girl. A 12-year old girl who really didn't know she was doing anything wrong by sharing music. A 12-year old girl who lives with her single mother in the projects, I might add. Plus, the 2G settlement is designed by the RIAA to get this thing swept under the rug before anyone notices the ridiculous amount of money for which they were actually suing the girl.

This is disgusting. At least it's starting to rile the attention of politicians. But, that's it, I've had it. I can't really say I'll boycott the RIAA since I've purchased exactly 1 CD from them in the last 6 years. But I think what I will do is take one of the comedy versions of one of their bullshit "amnesty" forms, slap it in an envelope with a downhillbattle flyer and zip it off to 'em, along with a photo of my middle finger.

The worst part of it is that the girl is quoted as saying she's sorry she hurt the artists, something the RIAA made herself see. If the RIAA cares about finding people who hurt artists, they might want to take a look in the fucking mirror.
