I'll Sing Songs To A Child
Let it never be said that I am the dorkiest person alive.
The funny thing about these people, who are into something called cosplay, is that I just randomly happened to find them last night and I was like, "Bwahahaha!"
Then, today in class, my favorite Asian TA Byung-Ho "The Bungster" Park is leading an incomprehensible lecture on Sesame Street when suddenly he starts talking about Street Fighter II. Then he puts up on the overhead pictures of some girls dressed up like Chun-Li and the whole class was like, "Yo, what the fuck?" But because I had randomly learned all about it a few hours prior, I was all, "That's called cosplay! And I think Byung-Ho means to say that kids shouldn't get too into Sesame Street." But that was just a guess, cause the guy doesn't really speak English.
Of course, I would never do anything like that.
...What The Ray Is Cooking
What's that smell? Oh I know... It's bullshit and it's wafting off the last page of my "Social Science Literature Review" about how the television creates eating disorders in adolesecent girls and what we can do about it. I've been banging my head against a wall about for, like, 48 hours trying to write this damn thing, and I'm just so happy to be done with it--even though it's crap--that I thought I'd take a moment to share my glee with y'all before I head back into jungle and try to crank out another paper, fix a group project gone haywire, catch a nap, decide who lives and dies in iuTV over lunch, go to class, skip a class, meet with some guy as a last minute consideration thing/favor, crank out emails to everybody telling them if they're in or not, watch RAW and then finally sleep a bit. And that's just Monday. On man, when does the weekend start?
Things I Have Learned From The Internet About Two Movies I Have Recently Seen
1776
Not only does Will Daniels play John Adams in this movie, but he also played him in a movie called The Rebels and he also played John's brother Sam (of beer fame) in a movie called The Bastard AND he also played John Quincy Adams in The Adams Chronicles-- a role later played by none other than Sir Tony Hopkins. Will would also go on to play the principal of John Adams High School is some TV series.
Disclosure
Roger Ebert wrote of this movie "There's a lot of computer stuff in the movie, which makes us feel clever, unless we know anything about computers, in which case, it makes the movie feel dumb." Word. Also, River Pheonix is not in the movie.
Being kind is just a way to keep me under your thumb
Man, I've neglected this blog in the past few days. You have my full apology. Anyway, I'll just try to get y'all caught up in short order.
1) I am so lazy sometimes I disgust even myself.
2) All Jenny Jones does any more is make-overs. A man can only stand so much.
3) Four hours in: Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is tight, but it's no Metroid Prime or Metal Gear Solid. However, it is pure 64-style Zelda goodness.
4) The best toothbrush ever invented? The Reach MAX. Abandon your current toothbrush and lay hands on one of these babies if you can find them in stock. (They are pretty popular.)
5) I missed the first half, but Rules of Attraction just might be the greatest, most true-to-life college movie of all time. Check it out if you have ever experienced a disasterous collegiate romance. And, really, who hasn't?
Okay, that'll do it for now. Stay true, stay deep.
Where the grass is green and the girls are pretty
Greetings from the beach. I don't have much to say right now, other than expect a hell of a full report next week. Until next time, I say simply, "WHOOOO!!!!!"
Tell me where did you sleep last night
Greetings from the Flying J in Birmingham Alabama. I'm told we are making good time. Which, is, you know, good.
Give me a break now
Well, I'm making my final preparations for roll-out, B-town to Woo-town, and I've just recieved word that everyone's favorite Asian (sorry Maryann) will be in PCB after all. So, allow me to be the first to say, "WHOOOOO!!!!'
